A quick check makes sure you wrote them down correctly.

Use it when needed

Forgot your unlock, or set up a new iPhone? Enter the phrase and set a new unlock.

No account needed

There is no email reset and no support override. Only the phrase can recover the vault.

Periodic reminders

VaultBolt occasionally asks you to check your phrase so you notice a lost note before you need it.

One phrase per vault

Each vault has its own phrase; one never reveals another.

Honest limits

  • Anyone who gets your phrase may be able to restore your vault. Keep it offline and private.
  • Lose both your unlock and your phrase, and the vault cannot be recovered by anyone.
